The Jesus I Know

Earlier this year, I commissioned my friend, Jaems Murphy, to do this drawing of a laughing and joyful Jesus for me. I wanted an illustration that matched the energy of the Jesus I know, rather than the often simpering, or sad, or gruesome images that are so common. Now, if you are interested in having a Laughing Christ of your very own - Jaems is selling prints on Etsy.

Tian Tan Buddha

Continuing with my collection of sacred spaces, I want to share one of the most powerful places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. In January, my husband and I were lucky enough to spend 4 days exploring Hong Kong. What a beautiful and exciting city! But, if you get out of the epicenter of the city, and visit Lantau Island, there is the most beautiful monastery. Po Lin Monastery sits high enough on top of a mountain that the best way to reach it is via a cable car that travels over lovely, lush terrain to the touristy (and adorable) village of Ngong Ping. The Big Buddha itself, sits above 268 steps, where it blesses the earth with love.

Divinely Inspired Sculptures

I have recently become obsessed with these lovely sculptures! Someone gifted me with one, and I loved it so much that I spent a great deal of time perusing all their amazing statues. I am using them around my house to bring in the energy of a wide variety of divine beings. They are beautiful and warm and carry the loving energy of the family that creates them. You can see a small sampling of my growing collection on the home page of this site!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine

I have discovered a sacred space in my own backyard! After 22 years of living in the city of Chicago, we moved to the suburbs. Last Thursday, I woke up thinking about visiting the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City when I was in college. Two days later, my husband randomly showed me an article about the shrine here. It turns out that Thursday (December 12) was her feast day, and thousands of people made the pilgrimage to this beautiful spot, less than a mile from our new house. Many of them walked for miles, which is a big deal in a Chicagoland December! The celebration that they hold here every December 12th, is the second largest in the world, after the one they hold in Mexico City.

Lavender Labyrinth

I just wanted to share this beautiful sacred space. It’s in Michigan, near the woods where my family has a cabin. The folks at Cherry Point Farm have carefully cultivated this labyrinth, which is peaceful and lovely all summer, but is especially incredible in July, when the lavender is in bloom. They also have a really great farm market, and to-die-for cherry strudel, which are two things you just have to love about a sacred space!

Smudging Spray

If you’re one for saging your home, please check this out! My family has a hard time when I burn anything in the house, so I found this incredible Cleansing Smudge Spray, which is an awesome alternative to burning, is super easy, smells wonderful, and has become one of my favorite things! The creator of these sprays is amazing, and in all honesty, "magic potions” would really be an accurate term for her work.

My Approach

I have taken a hands-off approach to Reiki, which is unique in a technique that is traditionally very hands on. I’ve developed my practice primarily working with my family, which consisted of my various out of state family members, and then, my kids. I used Distant Reiki when I was working with my family, and when I had kids, it was the easiest way to work with them, too….

I AM

I am an Energy Worker. I work primarily with the energetic field. This can also be called the aura, or the subconscious. An energy blockage can cause physical pain, and releasing the cause of the blockage will alleviate it. Past memories, both from your present-lifetime, and also from your past-lifetimes, reside in your energy field, and will play repeatedly on a loop in your subconscious, creating your current reality. I can help you release those memories, leaving the door open for you to create the reality you want….
